Action.

Community.

Resilience.

2024 Annual Report

Climate Action Campaign has a simple vision: clean air, clean energy, and resilient communities. More than ever, this year has served as another reminder that we must charge full speed ahead.

In 2024, we faced natural disasters, critical elections, and fierce opposition from the gas industry. Yet, we stood strong, securing key wins and advancing toward the future we deserve.

Our communities demand action. Together, we’re rising to the challenge, mobilizing for change, and fighting for an equitable and sustainable future.

Climate Wins in Court

Our mission is to protect the people and places we love by advocating bold climate policies and holding leaders accountable. In 2015, San Diego committed to 100% clean energy, but we took legal action to ensure action, securing a groundbreaking settlement. Now, the city must set annual emissions targets and publicly address any shortfalls, making climate promises real.

Stories

Our Stories

Community drives change, and we’re grateful to the thousands who joined the fight for clean air and energy. Meet a few of our 2024 changemakers:

Dr. Vi Nguyen

"As a pediatrician who has seen what the climate crisis can do to our children, I understand that change only happens with community support. In the last few years, I’ve seen increasing asthma rates, kids with bad pneumonia in off-seasons, and kids sent to the pediatric inpatient and intensive care units with severe conditions.

We can’t wait for state or federal action; we must act now."

Daniel Hernandez

I’m a Bonita Vista High School student and know firsthand that if we don’t act on climate, nobody else will.

We youths want to be heard and learn in sustainable schools. Our strength is our voice. It’s up to all of us to speak up for our climate and our communities."

Mary Yang

"When we see biodiversity loss, habitat degradation, and natural disasters, we should also see the convergence of people, economics, social justice, and policy. And it is each one of us—engaged and empowered—who drive the change."

Corinna Contreras

"Pushing for a safer, healthier, and more connected built environment demands strong community engagement and direct communication with officials to ensure their decisions are climate-forward, not climate-backward.

As the Transportation Policy Advocate for Climate Action Campaign, I am ready for a bold and aggressive push for climate justice in 2025."
